Blue Moon Forest Lodge is your perfect base for all of the wonderful experiences there are things to do for families to enjoy. There’s too many to mention, but here are some of our recommendations.
First opened to the public in 1925 by local legend Archie Fontanini or Fonty as he was affectionately known, the pool is still a favourite place to relax all year round with a refreshing swim in summer. Fonty’s Pool is also the host location for the annual Truffle Kerfuffle in June.

Just down the road from us is stunning Glenoran Pool, where the Donnelly River opens into a wide, shallow pool perfect for fishing, swimming or a picnic. There are number of walk trails, including the Bibbulmun Track that lead to near by One Tree Bridge.

The Manjimup Heritage Park has become a favourite for locals and tourists alike. With a wide range of historical experiences including the new Powerup Energy Museum, it is also home to an amazing kids playground and one of the world’s largest slides. The question is….. are you brave enough to slide?

Nowhere else in the world can you get a bird’s eye view from the top of the canopy in an ancient forest. Once used as fire lookouts, there are 2 climbing trees both near Pemberton. The Gloucester Tree and the Bicentennial Tree offer views of the land that have to be seen to be believed.

Not too far from Blue Moon Forest Lodge is Donnelly River Village, an historic reminder of a pioneering time gone by. These days it’s a great place for the family to see how people of the South West used to live and to feed the Kangaroos and Emus that call the village home. There is a general store where you ca buy feed to give to the animals.
Originally built to supply nearby Pemberton with water, Big Brook Dam is now a family favourite and our local beach! This enormous fresh water lake sits against the backdrop of towering karri forest. It has its own beach and a 4 km sealed track all the way around, with various stops along the way to look for bird life. There are picnic tables and clean BBQ’s available at no cost.An absolute must for any family.

If you have a 4WD there is a range of off road experiences for you. Head don to the mysterious Yeagerup Dunes, an inland dune system where you will travel through bush onto the dunes, then down onto the beach where the Warren River meets the ocean. Don’ have a 4WD? No problem, you can take a tour with local guides Pemberton Discovery Tours.

Manjimup has a new purpose built skate park with rails and boxes and a large bowl. It caters for little ones all the way through to expert skateboard, scooter or bmx riders. Supervised during weekends, plenty of free parking and only a minute from the shops, the kids will love this one.

Held each year in December, The Manjimup Cherry Harmony Festival attract families form near and far. Street entertainment, classic car parade, cooking demonstrations, wood chopping events and the classic cherry “pip spitting” contest. oh and there are cherries galore.
